it includes new several features about online chat with other ps3 users. , in game chat and check friend list function , and xmb features.Text chat function give you permission to communicate up to 15 online user using with wireless keypad , on-screen keyboard or other keyboards such as usb keyboard etc.You can also use chat function instead of you are in game.PS button is enough for it ;)
Another good update is , you can back up your videos that you have purchased to an external harddrive
